Gillibrand Women’s Equality Act

For each of Governor Cuomo’s ten point plan in the Women’s Equality Act, there are existing bodies of law which could be amended.  It’s marketing 101 to put all the women’s issues together,  build a coalition of people/groups that each want their particular issue to be addressed and are willing to share (because isn’t sharing the key thing that women do).  Even the lawyers got to jump in on the bill and make sure that their attorney fees were covered.  If you look at Gillibrand’s PACs and the list of supporters of the Governor’s plan you will see cross pollination.  http://auburnpub.com/blogs/eye_on_ny/nearly-groups-endorse-cuomo-s–point-women-s-equality

is that Senator Gillibrand at President’s Swearing-In Ceremony?

Is it possible that Scott Andrews / The Associated Press captured the 2016 Presidential Race? Is that Senator Gillibrand seated in the sixth row on the right in the brown coat? http://bigstory.ap.org/tags/scott-andrews-pool

If I am correct and the presence of Senator Schumer in the same photo gives pause, what is the subliminal? There are a few interpretations possible such as this is the 2016 Candidate; this is what a $15,000,000 (and growing)campaign finance can achieve OR maybe something along foreign policy initiatives? It’s your call.

Which Turnsoff Senators More? Gillibrand Cries or Cash

People working in New York in the world of Corporate
America, were you shocked when NY Senator Kirsten Gillibrand used tears in her Senate testimony requesting money to help us? What was she thinking? A senator possibly being groomed for a 2016 Presidential campaign with a campaign donor war chest reported to exceed $15 million and growing, a PAC and spending her time building national alliances… did she think she could show up to the Senate put on a public display of emotion and that would soften the hearts of the Senate and/or show Americans she can get what she wants simply by asking? In my opinion, there was no way in hell Senator Gillibrand helped us by trying to lead the way. She is a Presidential Candidate threat and knows it. If anything, her request could have been perceived as showboating. Why is it that (as I predicted) with the vote delayed they send in Senator Shumer to take the press follow up? Are the wagons circled around Senator Gillibrand? Because I would have asked if she felt overconfident? Do you think your campaign financing is hurting New Yorkers?

In Response To A Blogger

Hi Eric. I understand your point yet, I’d like to ask if you would consider holding up on the term w—- because it gives male politicians an easy out for likeminded decisions. You’re focusing on a very important trait in that it appears she bends to the polls so it’s extremely hard if not impossible to know her true positions.  This creates an impression that it very easy for special interests to buy a vote.  The Village Voice has come the closest to making the same observation when they wrote about having to put money in the envelope to sign Kirsten Gillibrand’s birthday card.  Maybe the ease in which she gets the money is an indicator of how easy it is to get her to represent a donor’s issue.  In the end isn’t that what people want; the ability to joinforces with people sharing their cause raising money to get their need met and paying someone to go do it?  I’m struggling with this because I am studying Kirsten Gillibrand ascent. She just seems to me like a regular lawyer who will rep your case.  The fascinating part is watching the process.

Is There A Dad Behind the Machine?

The more I read the more interesting Kirsten Gillibrand’s father, Doug Rutnik seems. Is the press getting the sequence of events right? The timeline or the backstory seems off. On sites like Regator.com I found this piece dated four years ago http://regator.com/p/113464327/ny-sen_a_dissenting_note_on_gillibrand/ starting to make the connection. But what if Doug Rutnik had strongties to Congressman Benjamin Gilman? Didn’t he lose his seat to John Sweeney who lost his seat to Kirsten Gillibrand? Remember, I am not a political insider but this is easy to figure out if you are a lifelong New Yorker. Or someone with a long memory. No pun intended to a party loyalist Wendy Long

Public Displays For Affection?

I saw these pieces on www.youtube.com Kirsten Gillibrand crying  http://youtu.be/CV62kxgp47E   it reminded me of another www.youtubevideo  on President Obama crying http://youtu.be/U5oMY6_kCoo

I refuse to be cynical.  I am going to ignore that both cry pieces feel like a calculated press moment for national attention.

A Gimme (sports definition)

Today, I read social media comments thanking the passage of a bill addressing sexual assault in the military.  I too am thankful.  However, this is an issue that begs us to question what took so long?  Are there social issues that the Senate needs to address but sit on until they can give it to a Senator to help them build public support and have credit for bill passages? Do you think that Senate recently discovered the problem with sexual assault in the military? Shouldn’t we be asking every incumbent in Congress and the Senate why now, why Gillibrand?  According to www.opencongress.org Kirsten Gillibrand while serving in Congress was part of the House Committee on Armed Services http://www.opencongress.org/wiki/House_Committee_on_Armed_Services/Subcommittee_on_Seapower_and_Expeditionary_Forces

If there are any readers of this blog post that have ever worked in a corporate sales position, you know what I am talking about.

Check Out OpenSecrets.org

How did the media fail to mention NY Senator Kirsten Gillibrand 2012 campaign raised – $15,000,000+.  I found this information on opensecrets.org’s Facebook page.

Think about how this money would drown out your voice or different point of view.  Why would you even bother to contact the Kirsten Gillibrand office if you had to ask for advocacy?  Go ahead, give it a try.  See how long it takes a staff member to ask what group you work for or represent?  Remember there are $15,000,000  ahead of you.   The next time I see a photo of Kirsten Gillibrand with her hand in her pocket, I’ll be thinking it’s a really deep pocket and she’s protecting the money inside.

Needed: Timeline Accuracy – Kirsten Gillibrand Into Politics

Can anyone help with the accuracy and understanding of Kirsten Gillibrand;s timeline into politics?  1) Daniel Patrick Moynihan – was he looking for a female candidate to support?  Did he want to help the Clintons, the Democratic Party?  Were the Democrats seeking to recruit female candidates?  Did Kirsten Gillibrand’s name come up alongside of Hillary Clinton?  Was there an organized effort to groom Kirsten Gillibrand for her future position(s)?  And if so, did it include cooperation of the Republican Party to run candidates who were weak or party loyal that would not mount much of an opposition?  Is there a career path mapped out the way the corporate sector grooms their leadership?  If so, who gives the buy-in?

October 2008 – The Washington Times

http://www.washingtontimes.com/campaign-2012/candidates/kirsten-elizabeth-gillibrand-51916/

This piece highlights Kirsten Gillibrand Federal Election Commission Candidate Disclosure campaign donors (see bottom), attention to visiting New Yorkers statewide, a focus on two issues (agriculture and military); no reporting on laws or change of benefit to New Yorkers in agriculture or military.  Briefly covers the events leading to her launch into politics but doesn’t help create the timeline nor easily understand how she came into a position of power by skipping around.  If you are from outside of Upstate NY, it would be difficult to figure out.
